Fever-Tree was first established in Britain back in 2003, when founders Tim Warrillow and Charles Rolls noticed people were becoming more sophisticated about choosing high-quality spirits, but then drowning them in poor-quality mixers. They reasoned that if three-quarters of your drink is mixer, shouldn’t it be the best? Thus Fever-Tree was born.

The unrivalled taste and quality of Fever-Tree products is the result of focusing from the start on procuring the finest ingredients from natural sources.

The company’s first product, Premium Indian Tonic Water, is formulated using the finest quinin, which they harvest from the bark of cinchona trees found in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In the 1600s, with the world plagued by malaria-carrying mosquitos, a Jesuit monk called Agostino discovered that native Indians who would chew the cinchona bark when they had a fever would see their fever subside. In the 1800s, the first “Indian Tonic Waters” were created when British soldiers stationed in India mixed their daily ration of quinine with a spoonful of sugar along with some local spices and citrus. The remarkable cinchona is known colloquially in India as the fever tree, inspiring the company’s distinctive name.

Over the years, innovation has been at the heart of the company, and the two founders continued to search the world for other premium ingredients. The company is committed to sourcing only the highest quality ingredients: ginger from the Ivory Coast, India and Nigeria; bitter orange from Mexico; and lemons from the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily.

Fever-Tree products contain no artificial sweeteners, flavours or colours, and are GMO-free. The makers’ dedication to purity and quality sets their mixers apart from other everyday mixers on the market, which often contain high fructose corn syrup or artificial sweeteners.

In Canada, Fever-Tree’s full portfolio includes 14 different mixers, all carefully formulated to bring out the flavours of the finest spirits. The selection ranges from award-winning tonics, including the recently introduced Refreshingly Light Cucumber Tonic, to ginger ales and ginger beers, club soda, and sparkling lemonade. You can find Fever-Tree at leading retailers, bars, and restaurants across the country.
